Follow Friday, TGIF, Book Blogger Hop [9/30/11]

Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee. It exists so bloggers can make friends and say "hi!".
What book that hasn't been turned into a movie (yet) would you most like to see make it to the big screen, and who would you like cast as your favorite character?
Hmm...I don't really know which of my favorite books to queue up first for Hollywood slaughter! I'd actually pretty pleased with some of the more recent fairytale revisions [Red Riding Hood, Beastly, etc]. Carry on Hollywood! What book would you like to see turned movie?

TGIF is hosted by Ginger over at G-Reads, and it helps bloggers recap the week on their blog and answer a question.
Banned Books: How do you feel about the censorship of the freedom to read? Do you think the education system needs to be more strict on what children are exposed to in books?
I think it's ridiculous that people think it's okay for them to censor someone's freedoms. I learned all my basic life skills from books, who am I to take that experience away from someone else? If everyone just minded each other's business and let everyone learn for themselves, it'd be a better world in my opinion :]

The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books. It's where bloggers connect via their love for books!
In honor of Banned Books Week, what is your favorite banned or frequently challenged book?
Though there are some great titles gracing the pages of this list, I'd have to say that I absolutely LOVED Augusten Burroughs' Running with Scissors. It was a captivating read about one boy's struggle to survive his childhood with a less than common situation of life.

Have a great weekend!

Teaser Tuesday (One Grave at a Time)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. It's where we bloggers share a tantalizing glimpse of a book we're reading, have read, or want to read, just to tease you :]
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS!
  • Share the title & author too, so that other TT participants can add the book to the TBR lists if they like your teasers!
Teaser:
"I had a good idea of what Elisabeth meant by 'he walks' but because it was too far-fetched for me to conceive of, I had to make sure. 'You're saying that after the homicidal asshat died, Kramer became a ghost who could walk around in solid flesh every Halloween?'" -page 45

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans' voodoo queen just keeps on giving--leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity--forever. But how do you kill a killer who's already long dead?
Ahh, this is why I love Cat Crawfield-Russell, yes ma'am! Who else could pull off such a flawless usage of asshat terminology? No one! That's who! This series is awesomeeeee!
